Why use an independent insurance agent?
An independent agent can compare policies from several insurance companies instead of just one, then help you look at coverage that may fit your risk and budget. You also get one local contact for questions, changes and claims.
Independent vs. captive
A captive agent sells for one company. An independent agent represents several. Hogg Insurance has been independent since 1988, and we currently work with companies like Progressive, Travelers, Nationwide, Safeco, Foremost and others. That list changes, and not every risk fits every company.
What that means for you
- One conversation, more options: we compare the companies we represent so you don't have to call around.
- The right limits, not just the lowest price: a cheap policy with the wrong limits can cost more when you have a claim. We explain what you're buying.
- Local help: claims, cancellations, certificates and ID cards. Call the office and talk to a person who knows your account. Claims decisions are made by the insurance company.
- Personal and business under one roof: auto, home and renters, life, and commercial lines like general liability, commercial auto, property, workers' comp and business owner packages.
Does it cost more?
Pricing depends on the carrier, your risk and the coverage you pick. We can't promise savings, but comparing several companies gives you a clearer picture of your options.
